My new favorite place: Parque de las Palapas

Parque de Las Palapas, Cancun.

Last weekend I think I found my new favorite place in Cancun; Parque de las Palapas. Friends from Cancun were really shocked when we told them we had not heard of Parque de Las Palapas. So right away they took us there and showed us around. It is in downtown Cancun, and for people who know Cancun it is next to the ADO bus station of Cancun.

It is a park with a central square with a big stage. There are small cars for rent for children which makes it a great place to spend a day with the family. Around it are small stands with thatched roofs, where people serve all kinds of delicious food, like crepes with cheese and nutella, and a lot of Mexican food like empanadas and quesadillas. Also you can buy arts and crafts from the ´hippy´ artisans. This park is a great place to have fun with friends, your lover or with family.

We only got there in the evening so we looked around and we sat down somewhere to eat empanadas, which were super tasty and also very cheap. Afterwards we got ourselves a delicious ice cream and walked around some more. It is very colorful and fascinating to watch all the different stands. The atmosphere is just amazing you will have to go see it yourself to experience it yourself.

Cancun is beautiful and I am enjoying it to the fullest. It will definitely not be the last time I will visit Parque de las Palapas! So when is your visit?
