Nothing like diving into the surreal turquoise waters and enjoying a private snorkeling session in the beautiful Maya reef, known for being the second longest coral reef in the world, or cooling off in the crystal clear waters of the most beautiful and enigmatic cenotes of the region (The cenotes are deep water wells, which are fed by the filtration of the rain and by the currents of the rivers that are born in the heart of the earth. The water temperature is 24 ° C throughout the year. These wells owe their name to the Mayans, who baptized them with the word Dz’onot, which means « cavern with water » and hence derived from its current name: cenotes). Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Cancun

You will be received by one of our naturalist guides in Cancun. Next, transfer to the enigmatic Chichén Itzá, where upon arrival you will receive a briefing about the activities and important information regarding the tour. Later you will be registered in the beautiful and historic Mayaland Hotel – founded in 1923, being the first five-star hotel within some archaeological zone in the world, and named one of the best hotels in the world by the National Geographic and Conde Nast Traveler magazines-. At night, you will enjoy a majestic spectacle of light and sound inside the archaeological site, with images projected on the Kukulcan Pyramid and other attractions.

Day 2: Chichén Itzá – Valladolid

You will visit one of the seven wonders of the modern world very early in the morning: Chichen Itza. The visit will take place early to make the trip more enjoyable avoiding the crowd in the area. Afterwards, you will enjoy the scenic bike ride to the colonial city of Valladolid, a beautiful journey through small and picturesque villages such as X-Calakoop, Kaua and Cuncunul. Overnight will be at the Mesón del Marqués hotel, a beautiful resort whose building dates from the 17th century and that keeps a lot of history in every corner.

Day 3: Valladolid – Ek Balam

We arrived on the third day of this magnificent Tour, and there is still much to pedal and see. In the morning, the bike tour will be heading to Ek Balam (an ancient city founded in the second century that was the base of the Talol kingdom, and which means “Jaguar Star”, which is located 30 km north of Valladolid). After enjoying the site, you will return to Valladolid to take a city tour and visit the Casa de los Venados museum, a colorful place full of handicrafts and historical objects from the area. For dinner, nothing like enjoying the wide variety of dining options that Valladolid has for you, such as: Lomitos de Valladolid (combination of diced pork with tomato, boiled eggs and serrano chili sauce), Oriental marinade (performs based on chicken or turkey, cooked with purple onion, x-catik peppers, vinegar, garlic, among other condiments that are well known in the region) or the delicious Longaniza de Valladolid (Sausage made from pork, seasoned with Wide chili peppers, vinegar, pepper, garlic, among other spices, is an element of distinction in this magical town located in the Eastern Yucatan. It is usually used to consume it reheated or accompany it with tanned onion of coriander, roasted tomato sauce and sour orange) . Again, the overnight will be in the wonderful hotel Mesón del Marqués.

Day 4: Valladolid – Coba

The fourth day dawns and it is time to get on the bicycles and pedal towards Coba. Along the tour, we will pause to cool off in the crystalline waters of the Tamcach Ha cenote, which is accessed through a staircase and is partially covered. Then, we will visit the imposing archaeological site of Coba, whose origin dates back to the year 100 B.C. With an area of more than 80 square kilometers, Coba (which means “Cloudy Water”) was one of the largest and most powerful cities in the Yucatan Peninsula during its peak. If you like adrenaline, we recommend as an additional activity, the route in Zip Line that crosses the Coba Lake and pass over the crocodiles that inhabit it. We will continue to Tulum, where you will spend the night at the Los Lirios hotel.

Day 5: Tulum

We cannot miss the opportunity to admire many of the bird species that inhabit the region, so we will give you the option of an early bird watching. Then we will get on the bicycles again to explore Tulum and its picturesque streets. Tulum was incorporated into the “Magic Towns” program in 2015 and is a must-see point thanks to its beautiful beaches and the archeological site to which it owes its name. We will visit the Great Cenote to take a well-deserved dip, snorkel and admire the imposing stalactites and stalagmites. After a fun day, we will spend the night at the Los Lirios hotel.

Day 6: Sian Ka’an – Tulum

In the morning, we will cycle to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve to admire one of the richest national parks in flora and fauna of Latin America in a relaxing kayak ride through the wetlands, while you learn more about the area with the information that our expert guide will provide. In the afternoon, enjoy Tulum beach and we will return by bicycle back to the Los Lirios hotel.

Day 7: Tulum - Cancun

The time has come to visit one of the most beautiful archeological sites in the world: the archaeological zone of Tulum. Called in ancient times Zamá (« Dawn » in Mayan) and later Tulum (« Wall » in Mayan), the ancient city was a center of worship for the « Descending God. » The construction of the city was based on the concept of the « four corners » that refers to the cardinal points and which in turn arises from the ancient cosmic pattern of five points. The city as a quadrilateral, represented an orderly, rational world, made for gods and men alike. In each corner or entrance, protective balames or town guards were installed. The site is an ideal place to get into Mexican culture and take spectacular photos. Afterwards, you will cool off in the crystalline waters of a cenote and finally we will go back to the city of Cancun where we will leave you on time to take your flight back home, with unforgettable memories of this unique experience.
